A Happy Mother's Day
Last Sunday was my first time on the other side of the table... As the one being celebrated. No cheesy cards, although I look forward to them when Micah is older, and no breakfast in bed... my MIL has already spoiled me in that front (#Godsend). All things being as the were, I think it was perfect.
We went to church, where the annual rendition of "Sweet Mother" and "Happy, Happy Mother's Day" were dutifully song by the men and children in our congregation. I also made sure to match Micah's outfit with mine. Though, not completely in sync, Poppa A.K.A. Engr. was in on the coordinated fun too.
After church, we went for lunch at Eggspectation. I had been craving brunch fare for sometime and the weather was perfect for it. We ended the day on a sleepy note. Everyone (but me) of course took quite the nap.
Did I mention that Mcbear had poop explosion post-breastfeed/pre-brunch... lucky we were waiting for our reservation in the car when it happened.
Being a Mother has changed me in so many ways and it has only been 2 months. I am so grateful that God chose me to be Micah's mommy because he is the absolute best (diaper explosions and all).
Happy Mother's day (in arrears) to all the Moms, Moms-to-be, Grandmothers, Godmothers, and Aunties! I salute you because it is not an easy job but somehow, you manage to do it with imperfect perfection.
